Solution to UNV-103: University Success - Topic 4 DQ 1.

SAMPLE 1

Hello class,

As I continue with my academic journey at Grand Canyon University, I have come to recognize the importance of developing strong academic relationships that will support my success. One of the relationships I plan to develop is with faculty members who will play an integral role in my learning and development. In each of my nursing courses, I plan to engage with my professors through interactions before and after class, and during office hours via email correspondence and other relevant channels. By establishing these lines of communication, I believe my professors will better understand my strengths and weaknesses so they can provide guidance tailored to my needs.

University staff outside the classroom are also invaluable resources. I aim to utilize tutoring services, especially in science and other complicated courses that are new to me. Regular contact with tutors will help me reinforce key concepts from class and fill any gaps in my understanding early before major assignments. Additionally, career services advisors can aid my transition from undergraduate study to graduate work or entrance into the workforce. Keeping in contact with an advisor will allow me to learn about opportunities like internships and ensure I am taking the classes needed for my career aspirations. As noted by Wei et al. (2023), early career planning and skill development are crucial for nursing students to successfully transition into the workforce.

Moreover, positive involvement with other nursing students is equally important for networking, collaboration on group projects, and reducing academic stress through shared experiences. I plan to join any associations within the university to make connections with peers in my major. Participating in association activities and community events with other members will foster friendships and a support system during challenging times (Ziegler et al., 2019). Overall, I am confident that a balanced approach to tapping into relationships with faculty, staff, and fellow students will optimize my chances for success in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Grand Canyon University.
