In this Competency, you continue to examine fundamental characteristics and
requirements of living organisms as you study the processes of mitosis and meiosis.
These are the processes that enable living organisms to grow, reproduce, and pass on
their genetic traits. You also study mutations that can lead to changes in an organism’s
genetic traits, as well as implications of genetic expression and mutation.
