Overview
For this Written Response Assessment, you will write a four (4) to five (5) page argumentative essay.
You will practice the Professional Skill of Written Communication. To make certain you are addressing all aspects of the Professional Skills, please review the Rubric to determine what is necessary for meeting the requirements. Visit the Professional Skills resources, as needed.

This Assessment requires submission of This Assessment requires submission of one (1) document, your Final Draft Argumentative Essay. Save your files as follows: EC1005_FinalDraft_firstinitial_lastname (for example, EC1005_FinalDraft_J_Smith).
You may submit a draft of your assignment to the Turnitin Draft Check area to check for authenticity. When you are ready to upload your completed Assessment, use the Assessment tab on the top navigation menu.
Instructions
Before submitting your Assessment, carefully review the rubric. This is the same rubric the assessor will use to evaluate your submission and it provides detailed criteria describing how to achieve or master the Competency. Many students find that understanding the requirements of the Assessment and the rubric criteria help them direct their focus and use their time most productively.

- Review your Rough Draft Argumentative Essay from Competency EC1004.
- Read it aloud to yourself.
- Evaluate the organizational structure of the essay for sense and clarity.
- Assess individual supportive evidence to make sure that it is strong and relevant.
- Re-save your Rough Draft of your Argumentative Essay with the Final Draft filename: EC1005_FinalDraft_firstinitial_lastname (for example, EC1005_FinalDraft_J_Smith) You will work in this document to develop your Final Draft.
- Draft a 4- to 5-page final Argumentative Essay. Be sure to do the following:
- Review the comments and feedback your instructor provided on your EC1004 Rough Draft.
- Expand on any ideas that require additional clarification or support. Where do you need to add references to support your ideas? Where do you need to expand your ideas so that someone who has no idea what the issues are can follow along better?
- Refine your sentences to create the proper voice and flow of ideas.
- Revise weak spots in organization and support.
- Read the draft carefully to help identify sentence or organizational weaknesses.
- Check for spelling and punctuation errors again.
- Create reference citations to acknowledge each source used in your paper. Follow the numbered steps below in order:

- Determine what type of source you are citing. Is your source a webpage, TED Talk, journal article, book, magazine, newspaper, etc.?

- Create a reference citation for each of the three sources you used in your essay. Put your citations into the References page at the bottom of your essay.
