Overview For this Written Response Assessment, you will draft a thesis statement and an outline in preparation for your Final Written Assessment in Competency EC1005. Please contact Assignment Samurai for help with EC 1003: Assessment or any other assignment. Email: assignmentsamurai@gmail.com   Assessment Submission Length:  One scholarly article, one complete Source Quality Rating document and one complete Developing a Thesis and Outline template. Professional Skill:  Written Communication is assessed in this Competency. This Assessment requires submission of three (3) documents, an annotated scholarly article, your Source Quality Rating Document and your Developing a Thesis and Outline Document. Save your files as follows:
  • Scholarly article: EC1003_Article_firstinitial_lastname (for example, EC1003_Article_J_Smith).
  • Source Quality Rating Document: EC1003_ Quality_firstinitial_lastname (for example, EC1003_Quality_J_Smith).
  • Developing a Thesis and Outline Document: EC1003_ Response_firstinitial_lastname (for example, EC1003_Response_J_Smith).
You may submit a draft of your assignment to the Turnitin Draft Check area to check for authenticity. When you are ready to upload your completed Assessment, use the Assessment tab on the top navigation menu. Instructions Before submitting your Assessment, carefully review the rubric. This is the same rubric the assessor will use to evaluate your submission and it provides detailed criteria describing how to achieve or master the Competency. Many students find that understanding the requirements of the Assessment and the rubric criteria help them direct their focus and use their time most productively. When you integrate these skills, and when you read something you have written about, your comprehension expands exponentially. To compete this Written Response Assessment, demonstrate your ability to write a thesis sentence and an outline in preparation for drafting an academic essay in response to the community issue of your choosing. Follow these steps to complete your Assessment:
    1. Review your completed Assessment from Competency EC1002: Developing Coherent Sentences and Paragraphs.  If necessary review the Taking Action in Your Community Project Overview.
    2. Conduct research to find one scholarly article that supports the position you intend to take on your chosen issue.
    3. Read, highlight, and take notes on the article to ensure comprehension.
    4. Complete the Source Quality Rating Document on the article.
      1. Fill out all the sections and be as specific as you can.
    5. Complete the Developing a Thesis and Outline Template.
