This is vital for providing high-quality, compassionate care. Emotional intelligence is also critical because it enables nurses to understand their own emotions and those of patients, even in stressful environments such as the emergency room (Dugué et al., 2021). By regulating their reactions and recognizing how patients feel, nurses can communicate in a clear, empathetic manner.
