Hello class,

            My name is XYZ and I am taking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the university. To say the least, I am excited to take this class as part of my academic journey, I believe it will provide a great foundation to help me progress in my career. As I went through the course materials I came across different concepts that will help me develop leadership and communication skills. These are some of the topics I am interested to learn about. As an Emergency Room (ER) nurse I know these skills are invaluable especially when navigating interpersonal relationships, responsibilities, and challenges that arise on a busy medical floor or in crisis situations. Additionally, understanding concepts like critical thinking and ethics will also support my work in healthcare.

That said, balancing work with full-time coursework will be a bit challenging for me. As an ER nurse alternating day and night shifts, and finding time for reading and assignments will require strategic scheduling and time management which I believe we will explore through the course. Nonetheless, I am hopeful that through open communication with the instructor, I can determine approaches that will ensure success in the course while minimizing stress. Overall, I believe this course will help strengthen my skills and knowledge to have an even greater positive impact on patients.
