Description:
In this course, candidates will explore effective assessment practices for English learners (ELs), including how to apply knowledge of validity and reliability to analyze and interpret EL student data. Candidates will examine assessments for identification, placement, reclassification, and instructional delivery to make informed decisions. Emphasis will be placed on designing formative and summative assessment tasks that allow for improved learning in language and content areas. Additionally, candidates will demonstrate knowledge of state-approved administrative considerations, accessibility features, and accommodations appropriate to ELs for standardized assessments.
