Description: Educators will explore how issues related to family relationships and community environments interplay to influence classroom dynamics. Special attention is given to family interaction patterns, including communication processes, power relationships, open and closed family systems, parent-child relationships, and conflict resolution processes. Emphasis is placed on frameworks, materials, and strategies for building relationships with family and community members as well as the development of successful family and community involvement in the classroom.
