  Description: This course provides participants with the skills needed to prepare for different types of emergencies in K-12 schools and to respond appropriately. Topics are related to response on a personal, classroom and schoolwide crises, are geared towards helping K-12 personnel survive and assist during traumatic situations. Topics addressed include safety procedures, student and staff trauma, crisis response, bullying, and mandatory reporting laws. Incorporating district policy, ethics, and school law are also covered in relation to emergency situations.
