Description:
Practitioners will examine Science of Reading concepts including decoding, language comprehension and reading comprehension, and how each can be used to teach foundational skills to develop proficient readers with the capacity to comprehend a range of texts across disciplines. Practitioners will build knowledge surrounding research-based language and literacy development approaches related to reading instruction, including the components of reading, while promoting early literacy and independent reading skills for all students, including those with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Practicum/field experience hours: None. Fingerprint clearance not required.
